Young people
The evaluation of Blueprint – what will we find out?
The evaluation of the Blueprint programme is an enormous exercise in its own right working across 12 streams of research. We will find out from young people, parents, teachers and others involved in the programme the answers to the following questions:
-
Does Blueprint work as a teaching resource from the viewpoint of teachers?
- Is Blueprint an interesting, useful and credible learning resource from the viewpoint of young people?
- Can Blueprint impact on the substance use behaviour of young people by reducing the proportion of young people who use substances or by reducing the adverse consequences of consumption?
- Does Blueprint increase the quality and quantity of communication about drugs between young people and parents?
- Do young people in Blueprint schools have a more accurate perception of the real figures about teenage drug use?
- How was each part of Blueprint delivered and are there lessons for minimising the challenges involved in the working of such a programme?
- What does doing Blueprint mean in terms of money, such as the cost per young person or family involved in Blueprint, and the cost of each component?
Final reports
The delivery and practitioner reports were published in November 2007.
In May 2008, a final report will be published addressing the questions above.
